The North Miami Police Department swore in a five-year-old boy suffering from cancer. This was done as the little one had a dream of being a police officer.

Kindness and compassion are perhaps the two most important qualities of mankind. Ever since the world was hit by the pandemic, most of us saw how the random acts of kindness brought joy and cheer in such trying times. In a recent incident, the North Miami Police Department won the hearts of people after they swore in a boy suffering from cancer. This was done as the little one had a dream of being a police officer.

In a recent Facebook post, the department informed that they swore in Jeremiah, who celebrated his fifth birthday with them. The department went on to mention that the little fellow has been suffering from High-Risk Stage IV Neuroblastoma Cancer. But, as per his recent reports, there is no evidence of the disease in his body. However, in order to ensure that there is no relapse, the young police officer has to continue the treatment.

In the pictures shared on the official page, one can see the five-year-old having a blast on his big day. He is seen playing and riding a horse, riding a toy bike, among other things. To make the day unforgettable, the department also ensured that they gave their youngest member the uniform which had his name written on it.

Chief Larry Juriga swore in the little man in the department. Netizens have also been informed that Jeremiah’s day just didn’t end with that as he also went to Hero’s Hangout Childhood Cancer Haven.

As per a report in WSVN, at this place, all children who are suffering from cancer are allowed to pick as many toys as they want for free. Further, it is a space where kids can craft, play and just be themselves in a sterile environment. Silvia Dominguez-Vanni, the co-founder of Mystic Foundation and Heroes Hangout, stated that they do not charge the families for anything and everything that is available is through the donations that they get.

She said, “It’s a really fun and magical place to forget what they’re going through each and every day.”
