The annual Christmas speech by the reigning monarch is an important part of Christmas festivities for the British. Every year, families turn on the tv to watch the royal deliver the festive message - a reflection on the past year and on the future.

But this year, Queen Elizabeth's annual Christmas speech has caught the attention of even those outside of the UK due to a giant, gold piano which seems to be casually lounging in the background.

Her speech, which was in character and managed to stay away from controversial topics, managed to spell out a message of 'goodwill' and hope.However, the gold piano in the background stole the show and went viral on social media.

Many commented that the Queen may have done better than to address the nation - in the throes of Brexit - and accused her of being 'out of touch'.
