Indian star batsman Rohit Sharma brought social media alive on a rather lazy Sunday when he posted a photo of him lying down, perhaps resting on the cricket field while taking a cheeky jibe at those who criticised the pitch at the Motera Stadium.
For the unversed, India secured an easy 10-wicket win over England in the third Test at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad which was met with mixed reactions and raised eyebrows from the cricket world.
On one hand, Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin received praises for wreaking havoc and handing India a comprehensive win taking them 2-1 in the four-match series and then there was a lot of chatter around the pitch that, according to some, heavily assisted the spinners right from the commencement of the match.
“Wondering what the pitch would be like for 4th Test,” Sharma captioned his now-viral photo, in a way responding to the pitch critics.
While the Internet and cricket fans called Sharma’s sneaky trolling skills “savage”, the cricketer’s photo was had a lot to offer, at least to the desi memers.
Wasting no time whatsoever, people used their creativity to meme Sharma in scenarios that will make you chuckle.
Here are a few of them:

Earlier, Sharma had defended the pitch, stating that the batsmen had to look for runs instead of constantly blocking the pink ball.
“To be honest I didn’t do anything different. On a pitch like that, you need to have intent. You need to look to score as well, you can’t just keep blocking. The odd ball might just turn, skid on to the stumps if you play for the turn. It’s important to use your feet, try and do as many things as possible to stay ahead of the bowler’s mindset. You need to make sure that you try and find ways to score runs,” said Rohit Sharma in the press conference.
