Kamaal R Khan is a “big star", you guys. Yes, if you compare to Mahesh Bhatt’s newly released movie Sadak 2. Well, KRK’s Deshdrohi where he “acted" has a better rating than Sadak 2 on IMDb.
Bad cinema has its own space. Bingers take it upon themselves to painstakingly revisit the cringe world of movies to churn funny reviews and memes out of them. 2008’s Deshdrohi by controversial public figure Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) is one such masterpiece.
The movie, written and produced by KRK featured the man himself in the lead and the camera couldn’t lie. The movie was panned universally for its poor acting performances and entered the hall of shame list of one of the worst movies to come out of Bollywood.
The movie scored a mere 1.4/10 on IMDb and the world moved on.
12 years later, Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial Sadak 2, a sequel of 1991’s Sadak, came along featuring the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapoor. It received similar treatment or perhaps worse.
With the ongoing uproar of nepotism and favouritism debate that has engulfed the Hindi film industry, Sadak 2‘s fate was more or less sealed after its trailer became the second-most disliked video in the history of YouTube.
The movie could have perhaps sailed the online outrage with a tight script and memorable performances. It achieved neither and movie critics bashed the movie for what it was.
“It’s surprising to see the primary actors’ submission to such a badly written script, and then they translated everything on to the screen with even worse body-language and movement. There is an armless person trying to wrestle five people, there is a woman swaying as if she is high on substance with half a kilo vermillion on her forehead and Aditya Roy Kapur, who is once again an addict. There is some kind of competition to look and act weirder," a review on News18 read.
Once the dislike army on YouTube was content with the outcome on its trailer, they headed to Sadak 2‘s IMDb page and rated it the worst movie ever in Bollywood with a poor 1.0/10 rating.
At the time of writing this, Sadak 2 has been rated “1" by more than 55,000 people- a whopping 96% of the entire voting list.
Of course, it was a time of celebration for KRK whose Deshdrohi (unfortunately) fared better than Sadak 2. On Sunday, a delighted KRK announced that he was the “bigger star".
The other bottom Bollywood movies sorted according to their IMDB Rating are Ajay Devgn’s Himmatwala (1.7), Ram Gopal Varma’s Fire (1.7), Abhishek Bachchan-starrer The Legend of Drona (2) and Himesh Reshammiya’s Karzzzz.
