Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s Chhichhore has won the award for the Best Hindi Film at the 67th National Film Awards at the National Media Centre, in Delhi on Monday, March 22. This marks and emotional for the deceased actor’s fan. The film helmed by Nitesh Tiwari follows the story of a middle-aged divorcee (Rajput) who takes a trip down memory lane with his college friends after encountering a tragic incident. Sajid Nadiadwala, producer of Chhichhore said in a statement, “On behalf of NGE (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainments), I dedicate this extremely prestigious award to Sushant Singh Rajput. We can’t get over his loss ever but I sincerely pray that this award gives a little bit of happiness to his family and fans which includes me. And I am tremendously grateful to Nitesh Tiwari for giving us all this very special movie.”
In June 2020, Sushant was found hanging at his Mumbai residence. Several controversies erupted around his death with his partner and actor Rhea Chakraborty coming in the eye of the storm. She faced a witch-hunting with people accusing her of Sushant’s death and pushing him to get addicted to drugs.
Here is how Sushant’s fans remembered their beloved actor after the award was announced.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Chhichhore also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prateik Babbar, Shraddha Kapoor and Naveen Polishetty among others. Actor Varun Sharma is over the moon after Chhichhore, starring late Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput, bagged the Best Hindi Film award at the 67th National Film Awards on Monday. Varun, who became popular playing Sexa in the film, calls the award a validation of the team’s effort.
“This is a huge validation and we are truly overwhelmed. This win means the world to us. But above all of this, this one is for Kammo (Varun’s character would call Sushant as Kammo in the film), and will always remain closest to our hearts,” he said. “Chhichhore is one of the most special films of my career. We had a lovely time shooting for the film. We are thrilled to have won the National Film Award for the Best Hindi Film,” he added.
