The Vaccines, Goldspot, Amit Trivedi: Six artistes to watch out for at the Weekender in Delhi

As Delhi gears up to spend a musical weekend at the Weekender, we give you six artistes who's performance you should not miss.

If you are headed to the 'happiest music festival' in town this weekend, here's a heads up at some of the artist we'd recommend you to listen at the Weekender in Delhi. Of these, some are known internationally, some in India and all of them represent varied genres of music- making the music festival a confluence of various styles of music- folk, pop and rock.

As Delhi gears up to spend a musical weekend at the Weekender, we give you six artistes who's performance you should not miss.

Barmer Boys- The men from the colourful, cultural land of Rajasthan bring you folk tunes right from the heart of the state. Their music is rich, just like their culture and the group manages to be one of a kind at the weekender as they stand out with indigenous tunes of the dunes amidst a lot western rock and pop.

Goldspot- They have been here for a while and have with their unique, quirky music managed to have a fan following both in India and abroad. Their style of music has often been compared to none other than George Harrison's style of music which probably is a good enough reason to watch out for their act at the weekender.

AIB- They have made a name in the genre of stand-up comedy in a short span of time. The comedy collective 'All Inndia Bakchod' are not the usual musicians that one would expect at a platform like the Weekender and that perhaps makes their act more appealing. Would be interesting to see how they infuse comedy and music at a platform like Weekender.

Amit Trivedi- The wonder-boy of Bollywood who has given music for films like 'Dev D', 'Kai Po Che', 'Aisha' will be performing at the weekender for the first time. We have loved his music immensely on the big screen and it would be great to see him perform live.

The Vaccines-English indie rockers The Vaccines are in India for the first time. They've toured and performed extensively with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arctic Monkeys and other huge global rock acts and their last two albums have rocked the UK charts. Need we say more?

Fossils-Fossils is a Bangla rock band formed in Kolkata in 1998. The group is considered one of the pioneering rock acts in Kolkata's Bangla music scene. Their music is a blend of blues, rock and psychedelia. They are noted for their social commentary and advocation of causes. Now, Fossils is a huge name in Bengal, will they be able to connect with the Delhi audience is something we will have to wait and watch.
