Art of Calligraphy and Beyond : Arabic and Persian Inscriptions on Decorative Art Objects

If you are an art freak and nurse a major crush for calligraphy, this is the place you want to be. Learn more about the fascinating twists and curves that make Arabic and Persian inscriptions the thing of beauty that they are. Be there, at the Special Exhibition Hall 2 in the National Museum at Janpath, on any day till the 12th of July from 10 AM to 5 PM.

It is a photography exhibition by Álvaro Pérez Mulas on Linguistic Twist and Visual Paradox. His photographs try to capture the details in everyday objects in an urban sphere and make visible the details that usually go unnoticed. If you have a taste for photography (other than clicking selfies), this is the place to be. Visit the Instituto Cervantes at 48, Hanuman Road, Connaught Place, and visit any day till the 23rd of August!


UnSingle with Kohra

Kohra is a project by Madhav Shorey. Deep, hypnotic and often grungy, it is a mix of raw analog signals, lush soundscapes and percussion. If you plan to get mesmerized by music like this, make sure you’re at the Summer House Cafe, Aurobindo Place market, Hauz Khas on 26th June, at 9 PM!

The Fat Atlas Trio

This jazz ensemble consists of players from USA and India with instrumental voices that balance perfectly with their mix of original compositions, old standards and folk tunes.
