I was born in 1947, made out of hand-spun cotton on a charkha, dyed in the three colours of courage, peace and the earth. I symbolize independence.
Freedom is not something that we achieved overnight. Freedom is, was and will always be a lifelong struggle. Our country gained its independence from the British Raj on 15th August 1947 and that is the day that we were born. and it took years of struggle to reach that point. But freedom is not just getting rid of foreign domination. It is so much more. It is about choices and decisions and taking charge of creating our future. Freedom, to quote this poem, is the absolute truth.
This beautiful poem called 'The Tiranga' by 'Being Indian', narrated over the visual of classical dance, is not only a story of our freedom, but also tells us what we can do with what we have.
