This highly sexist ad by Nando's India is getting a lot of flak on the social media

This ad talks about a 'piece of meat' that doesn't mind being touched and it is extremely insensitive.

On one side where people are trying their best to make the world more aware of misogyny, patriarchy, sexism and a very prevalent rape culture, world renowned eatery chain Nando's is going the extra mile to perpetuate it.

In an extremely sexist ad published in 'Hindustan Times' on 26th March 2016, Nando's India says "Try something that shows off a bit of skin" and "We don't mind if you touch our buns, or breasts or even our thighs. Whatever you're into, enjoying any Nando's meal with your hands is always recommended".

These "witty" puns on chicken parts have successfully managed to create an outrage on the social media. The primary complaint that people have regarding this ad, is that it reinforces the idea that of objectification of women. The very fact that this ad talks about a 'piece of meat' that doesn't mind being touched is extremely insensitive.

Even the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir tweeted about his disdain towards this particular ad.

Nando's India has since then issued an apology on Twitter about their ad. They said "We sincerely apologise for any offense caused by our ad published today. Our intent was not to offend anyone. We promise to do better". But that hasn't stopped the stream of outrage.

Several people have shared their disgust about this advertisement on Facebook and Twitter alike.
