Indian classical music and instruments have more potential that people give them credit for, now-a-days. But this Indian teenager is out to prove everyone wrong.
Eighteen-year-old Rishabh Seen from India covered 'Tempting Time' by 'Animals as Leaders' on the sitar and it looks and sounds absolutely epic. But it was not an easy task.
"For starting something that has never been done on a Sitar - I had to change nearly everything related to how I approached my instrument, how I played the instrument, how I viewed my fret-board,using the theory of Indian music that I have studied and relating it to metal and particularly 'Animals as Leaders' - which was mind numbing , eye opening and opened a whole new door of musical possibilities for me." says Rishabh on the description of the video.
'Animals as Leaders' is an American instrumental progressive metal band who are known for their jazz-influenced sound mixed with a lot of odd time-signatures and their front-man Tosin Abasi's virtuoso-like abilities with an 8-string guitar.
Covering an 'Animals as Leaders' song is an achievement in itself; doing so on a sitar is just mind-blowing.
