Optical illusions are an interesting thing from the famous dress illusion in 2015 to most recently the alleged presentation of a colour that was never seen before. A TikTok video shared by user Kate Bacon, is going viral on the social media platform as it claims to show a colour that was not shared before. In her video, Kate says that she is going to show her viewers a colour that they have probably never seen before. She said that the name of the colour is true cyan, and most televisions and monitors are not capable of producing this pigment. She then puts up a red circle with a white dot in the middle set against a blue background.

To spot the unique colour, Kate instructs her viewers to stare at the white dot for at least 30 seconds and the longer they stare the better are the chances of them seeing the colour more clearly. After the viewers have stared at the circle they should shut their eyes tightly, and then they should see a “glowing orb” in the colour of true cyan.

A similar video is available on YouTube which has more chances of you getting to see the colour. The one-minute fifty-eight-second video begins by instructing the viewer to stare at the white dot in the centre of the red circle as the camera slowly pans out. By the time the video ends you will be able to see the colour appear like a halo around the red circle. And that bright unique shade of blue is known as true cyan. The YouTube video was uploaded in 2011.

One user wrote in comments that if viewers blur their eyes halfway through, they can see the outline of the circle as half bright blue and half bright red.

While another comment read how, true cyan has become their absolute favourite colour.

This can be a new discovery of 2021.
