According to one Thomas Butler, who recorded the fight, there was a very brief argument before the duo started attacking each other. It’s not clear if the two knew each other or were strangers.

You may have heard of knife-fights, or gun-fights, or even fist-fights. But have you ever heard of umbrella and skate-board fight? The bizarre fight was recently captured on video in Eltham, south London. The incident happened outside the gates of Riverston School where the fight broke out at once. While the exact details of the fight still remain unclear, as does the identity of those involved in the brawl, the person recording the fight has been identified as Thomas Butler.

As seen in the video, the car backs out, then returns to stop. The man on the sidewalk is already holding his skateboard in his hands. The driver first fumbles in the front, then reaches to the trunk of the car from where he retrieves a folded umbrella. Then, the fight is on as each attack the other with their skateboard and umbrella wielded like a weapon. Soon they are assaulting each other with fists, their weapons long forgotten. The fight looks intense and deadly.

According to Butler, there was a very brief argument before the fight broke out. It’s not clear if the two knew each other or were strangers. Butler, who lives in a house across the street from the school, recorded the whole ordeal from his home window. Later, he even stepped out to try and break up the fight.

He assumed that it was a case of road rage, as the driver of the car “almost hit the skater.” Though the claim cannot be confirmed, but he assumes it.

The driver was battered pretty badly by the time Butler arrived. The skateboarder left. The driver, bleeding heavily, also drove away soon after. The Metropolitan Police were notified and they reached after everything was already over. They are yet to give a statement on the incident and clarify if the public fighters have been identified.
