As residents fled one of the worst wildfires in the history of California in November, two dogs Madison and Miguel were left behind in Paradise. Andrea Gaylord who lived with them in the now razed city was evacuated before the fire could be extinguished on November 25. While one of the dogs, Miguel was rescued after, Madison's reunion with the rest of his family took a little longer.

However, Madison finally did get reunited with Madison and Andrea, thanks to the efforts of animal lover Shayla Sullivan. The latter was allowed inside the burnt down area despite the order to evacuate the town so that she could locate the pets that got left behind in the devastation. According to a report in CNN, Sullivan laid out food, water and clothing that smelled of Miguel on the site of Andrea's burnt house in order to lure him back to the site.

Sure enough, the dog was found in a few days, sitting around the remains of the house, waiting for his family. Miguel, Mario and Andrea shared a tearful reunion once they met.

According to a report in ABC, Sullivan was informed about the dog by workers at the razed site who shared an image with of Miguel with her. She at once made up her mind to save the poor animal. After learning that Miguel had already been rescued, the animal rescue volunteer set out to search for Madison.

Social media was overwhelmed by the dogs' loyalty and the love they shared with Andrea.
