Rome: Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler feels his team is capable of winning the Serie A title this season even though they are eight points adrift of leaders Juventus.

Napoli showed great form in their 4-2 win over Inter Milan Sunday, and Inler on Wednesday said the team had regained the momentum they had at the beginning of the season.

"We had a good start this season ... then some defeats in Serie A and Champions League," said the midfielder.

"Unfortunately, we did not manage to advance in the Champions League, but we left the competition with 12 points."

"It's time to reorganise ourselves and fight for the Serie A title," he said.

Napoli signed some important players after the departures of players such as Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani and boss Walter Mazzarri in recent years.

"Of course, we felt the departures of high calibre players such as Cavani," Inler said.

"It was important for us to find the perfect replacements for them and I think we did well in this case with the signing of Gonzalo Higuain," he said.
