As many as six members, including children and women, of a family have been hacked to death by villagers in Joda area of Keonjhar district of Odisha.
The family members were killed after the tribal villagers suspected them of practising witchcraft. Police reached the spot and began investigation into the matter.
In another similar incident that occurred on Sunday, a man named Jagabandhu was beaten to death by villagers in Rayagada district of Odisha. The man was then burnt near the village. He was suspected by villagers of practising witchcraft.
