Akhilesh Yadav ensures prompt action in acid-attack cases
"Our government is committed to provide all possible help to acid attack victims. We are ensuring strict and prompt action in such cases so that these incidents do not recur," Yadav said.

Lucknow: Promising all possible help for victims of acid attacks, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said his government would ensure prompt action in such cases.

"Our government is committed to provide all possible help to acid attack victims. We are ensuring strict and prompt action in such cases so that these incidents do not recur," Yadav said.

He was addressing a programme organised at his residence here to give Rani Lakshmi Bai bravery award and economic help of Rs 3 lakh to acid attack victims, and to launch a website for women.

Stating that incidents like acid attack were a blot on the society, Yadav said the Rani Lakshmi Bai fund had been created by the state government at Rs 100 crore to help such victims.

During the programme, Yadav felicitated 19 women/girls and 20 women village heads and claimed that the Samajwadi Party government was in favour of empowering women and highlighted a number of steps in this regard.
