An ancient idol of Lord Buddha valued at Rs 1 crore was seized from a man by security forces in Bihar's West Champaran district on Wednesday, police sources said.
A joint operation by the Bihar Police and Sashastra Seema Bal personnel was conducted on a tip-off by intelligence sources that a man named Vinod Tiwary was transporting the idol on his motorcycle, the sources said. The man was intercepted near Chakhani village under Nagar police station.
The idol weighing 11 kilogrammes was valued at over Rs 1 crore, they said, adding that the man was being interrogated.
