New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday convicted six people, belonging to a Kashmiri terrorists organisation, in the 1996 Delhi blast case.

All the six convicted have been found guilty of attempt to murder.

At least 13 people were killed and 39 others injured in the blast that took place in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar on the evening of May 2, 1996.

Fourteen buildings were also destroyed in the blast.

Ten people, all from Jammu and Kashmir, were arrested for carrying out the blasts.

They were arrested soon after the incident by police, who intercepted the phone calls they allegedly made to various media houses, claiming responsibility for the terror attack.

The accused had been booked for various charges including criminal conspiracy and murder.

The defence counsels had argued that all 10 accused were falsely implicated by the police and were taken into custody before the blast.
