CBI court postpones judgement in Nithari case
A total of 16 cases were registered against Surender Koli, a domestic help, after Nithari case came to light.

Ghaziabad: A special CBI court on Friday postponed its judgement in one of the cases in the sensational Nithari killings, citing inadequate evidence.

CBI court special judge Shyam Lal did not pronounce the judgement in the murder case of Choti Payal, one of the victims in the gruesome killings in Noida in 2006, and asked the prosecution to furnish more evidences on December 19.

Surender Kohli, the main accused in the case, was present before the court.

CBI advocate Jai Prakash Sharma said the judge issued order, saying he needed some more evidences in three or four exhibits of the case.

It is the fifth case of the Nithari killings. Koli has already been handed the death sentence in the previous four cases. His hanging was stayed in June as his clemency petition is pending before Uttar Pradesh Governor.

A total of 16 cases were registered against Koli, a domestic help, after Nithari serial killings came to light in December 2006, following the discovery of human remains from a drain behind his employer Moninder Singh Pandher's house in Noida.

Both Pandher and Koli were awarded death sentence on February 13, 2009. However, on September 10 the same year, the Allahabad High Court acquitted Pandher and overturned his death sentence.
