Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs is likely to accord final approval for development of a National Highway in Rajasthan on Friday.

"Final approval is likely for the selected sub-project approved by Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) for the development of two laning with paved shoulders of Uniara, Nainwa, Hindoli, Jahanpur, Shahpura, Gulabpura section of National Highway NH-148D in Rajasthan," sources said.

However, the financial details of the project were not disclosed. The project is being executed under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-IV on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.

The note regarding the proposal was floated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways last month. The government cleared two highway extension projects in Rajasthan involving investments of Rs 713 crore with assistance from the World Bank, in April, this year.

The stretch from Lalsot to Karauli on NH-11B (87 km) will be improved at a cost of Rs 310 crore, whereas the stretch from Pratapgarh to Padi on NH-113 (97 km) will be developed at a cost of Rs 403 crore. These two projects are targeted to be completed by March, 2017.
