KOCHI: The golden jubilee celebration of  four vicars of the Sacred Heart Province was held at the CMI Provincial House here ..

KOCHI: The golden jubilee celebration of  four vicars of the Sacred Heart Province was held at the CMI Provincial House here on Saturday. Like a walk to remember, these  vicars reminisced the days of the past when they had first rendered their services for the goodness of mankind.The four priests -- Fr John Romeo Pattashay, Fr Jose Alex Orudhayapilli, Fr Austin Mullerikkal and Fr Augustine Thottakkara were crowned by Bishop Gregory Karottambral. Justice Cyriac Joseph congratulated the CMI Church which has for long worked for social uplift and education of masses.Auxiliary Bishop of Angamaly Sebastian Edayanthrath who inaugurated the function said, “We pray these priests, who have had 50 years of close association with God, would continue in their perseverance as mediators of Creator”.Amidst family, friends, mentors, socio-political leaders they once again committed themselves at the altar of priesthood.  Various bishops, priests, MLAs, bank managers, principals and headmasters also  attended the function.Excise Minister K Babu and Public Works Minister V K Ebrahimkunju were also present.
