Complaint Filed Against Salman Nadwi for 'Seeking' Rs 5,000 Crore to Change Stand in Ayodhya Case

Lucknow: The general secretary of Ayodhya Sadbhavna Samanvay Samiti, Amarnath Mishra, has lodged a complaint against Salman Nadwi for allegedly demanding Rs 5000 crore as a bribe to change his stand in the Babri title suit.

Mishra has alleged that he gave a written proposal to the expelled member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board who took it to the media.

This eventually led to the ouster of Nadwi from AIMPLB before the issue could be discussed in a board meeting, he said.

Mishra further alleged that he met Nadwi at Nadwa on 4th February in the presence of Imam Council general secretary Haji Masroor Khan.

Speaking to News18, Mishra said, “Maulana Nadwi wants to ‘islamicize’ Ayodhya and wants to convert Ayodhya in new Medina. That is why when he asked for a proposal and then demanded Rs 5000 crore, 200 acres of land and a Rajya Sabha seat.”

He further alleged that Nadwi had put his demands in front of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar whose office in reply said that the Ayodhya issue can only be resolved by brotherhood and harmony and refused to make any deal.

Nadwi has rejected all these allegations and said that he is not familiar with Mishra or Haji Masroor Khan. He said Mishra was lying and his charges were baseless. Nadwi also said that it is all done as a part of conspiracy against him. He, however, said he will not take legal action against Mishra.

The Ayodhya Sadbhavna Samanvay Samiti was created on the initiative of Ravi Shankar. Its main aim is to settle the Ayodhya dispute out of court.
