Delhi Man Shot Dead for Hurling Stones at Dog

Mehtab, the dog's owner, who saw the man hurling stones at his pet, quickly went inside his house and came out with a gun, the police said. He then shot Afaq after a brief argument.

New Delhi: A dog owner shot dead a 30-year-old man for throwing stones at his pet in northeast Delhi's Welcome Colony.

According to an ANI report, the incident occurred on Sunday when the dog started barking at deceased Afaq while he was walking on a road. Police officer Atul Thakur was quoted as saying that the dog apparently tried to bite Afaq, following which he threw a handful of stones at the animal.

The man was taken to nearby hospital, where he succumbed to bullet injury. Police said that Mehtab is on the run and they are looking for him.
