Delhi Police confirms Pakistan High Commission link in ISI spy ring, agents used WhatsApp to pass on info
According to Delhi Police, it was confirmed that the operation was on for last two years and that the arrested spy took instructions from Pakistan.

In the latest development in the Pakistan spy network issue, the Delhi Police on Monday confirmed a link with the neighbouring country's high commission in India.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi Police joint commissioner of police (crime) Ravindra Yadav said that it was confirmed that the operation was on for last two years and that the arrested spy took instructions from Pakistan.

The Delhi Police official said that they had arrested two people in connection with the case, adding that the Indian handler, Kafaitullah Khan, was asked to plant a mole in the Indian Army.

Khan was also told by his Pakistani handler that he would be assisted by someone in Pakistan High Commission.

According to Delhi Police, WhatsApp was used by the ISI agents to pass on information to the Pakistan handlers.

This comes even as the Delhi Police claims to have busted the spy ring. A serving Border Security Force personnel and four others have been arrested on charges of espionage and supplying details of Indian armed forces to the Pakistani authorities. Some of those arrested even had links with Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.

ISI handler Kafaitullah Khan was arrested for passing on information on deployment of security forces and Indian Air Force for 10 years and is suspected to have contacts in the Army too. Sources said Kafiatullah Khan was selected in BSF as well as Jammu and Kashmir Police, but did not join either force. The Crime Branch has sought Kafaitullah's dossiers from Jammu and Kashmir police, said sources.
