Delhi: Police have arrested a Delhi-based man, who along with two others, had allegedly gangraped a 32-year-old woman last year.

Rakesh, who is resident of Najafgarh area of Delhi, was arrested last evening by Rewari Sadar police. He, along with two others, had allegedly gangraped a woman on September 8, 2014, police said.

The whereabouts of two other accused, identified as Ajay and Bhoopi, are still unknown, they said. Rakesh was on Sunday produced before the Duty Magistrate here who remanded him in police custody for two days. Also, his thorough interrogation is going on, a senior police officer said.

On the directive of a local court that was issued by it on a petition earlier filed by the victim, a case of gangrape and abduction had been registered by the Rewari Sadar police on January 30 this year against the accused.

The woman alleged that she had an altercation with her husband on September 8, 2014, at their residence at Hansa Ka village, after which she proceeded towards her parental house at Kanharwas village, near Kosli, police said.

She alleged that at the bus stop of Kanharwas village, her husband's friend Rakesh met her, who took her to the railway station of Rewari.

Over there Rakesh, Ajay and Bhoopi, all three friends of her husband, allegedly administered some sedative in a cold drink to her after which she lost consciousness.

The victim also alleged that when she regained consciousness she found herself in a room at Najafgarh, they said. The woman had alleged that after having failed to get a case of gangrape registered here against the accused, she filed a petition in a local court.
