The recent expose on Pakistan atrocities in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir has impacted Indo-Pak ties on the global level, with the video proof bolstering India's stand ahead of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's address at the United Nations later on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is on the backfoot over Kashmir as images of the growing revolt in PoK grabbed eyeballs not just in India but across the world.

This comes even as India's UN mission has issued a statement, "It is regrettable that the delegation of Pakistan has once again chosen to misuse the UN General Assembly Session to distort reality... It was stated that Jammu and Kashmir is under foreign occupation. It is, except that the occupier in question is Pakistan."

According to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup, "Had told earlier if Pakistan makes any unacceptable references we will use our right to reply. Now I'm confirming we are using our right of reply. You all know cross border firing is done to cover infiltration, so it is understood who is behind it. We have repeatedly extended hand of friendship to Pakistan, we have also said that any cross border provocations will be responded to."

CNN-IBN's story of atrocities by the Pakistani state on Occupied Kashmir had repercussions in Jammu where protests broke out and effigies of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were burnt. Many who still have relatives in PoK confirmed the injustice being meted out to their kin.

Adding further credibility to CNN-IBN's reports out of PoK, former separatist leader Shabbir Chaudhry said that the situation in PoK is actually much worse and this is the first time the world is seeing the reality.

"Situation is getting worse. Pakistan is trying to impose nation action plan and applying anti-terrorism laws in Azad-Kashmir and Gilgit Balochistan. People are really fed up with this. There is strong resentment against Pakistan. They are saying that they want Pakistan to leave. Resentment and extremism is growing," he said.

With not just India, but the world watching, Pakistan will have a tough time harping on the Kashmir agenda, now that the growing resentment and revolt in Occupied Kashmir has been thoroughly exposed by CNN-IBN.
