A fierce gunbattle is underway between security forces and terrorists at Langate village in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara town on Monday.

Srinagar: A fierce gunbattle erupted between security forces and terrorists at Langate village in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara town on Monday.




Two terrorists were holed up in a village near Langate area and efforts are underway to sanitize the area, sources in the state Police department said.



"As a cordon was being laid, the terrorists fired upon the forces, which was retaliated, but the terrorists managed to escape," the officer said.
