Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under scorching heat on Wednesday with weather continuing to remain dry.

Met office here said day temperatures rose appreciably in Allahabad, Lucknow divisions; rose in Varanasi, Faizabad, Agra, Moradabad, Meerut divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the State.

They were appreciably above normal in Faizabad, Lucknow divisions, above normal in Meerut division and were normal in the remaining divisions of the State.

Maximum temperature was recorded at 44.3 degree Celsius in Allahabad.
