New Delhi: Jackky Bhagnani turns a young PM in Syed Ahmad Afzal's 'Youngistaan'. The actor, who has featured in films like 'FALTU' and 'Rangrezz', transformed his look to like a politician.
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, the film focuses on a young man who is forced to take up the PM's position after his father, the PM of the country, passes away. The film also features late actor Farooque Sheikh in an important role. Neha Sharma plays Jackky's girlfriend in the film.
Considering that the country is right now engulfed in election wave, the movie's theme is quite topical. Will the film help in giving Bhagnani's the much needed breakthrough in Bollywood? Shomini Sen of IBNLive.com is inside the theatre to find that out.
12:53 PM: #Youngistaan tweet review coming up.
1:02 PM: The film begins with Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma and playing a touchy-feely type of a couple. #Youngistaan
1:05 PM: Monkey hai hum, Tunky hai hum. Modern day poetry, this. #Youngistaan
1:15 PM: I see veteran Bengali actor Dipankar Dey in #Youngistaan! Playing a Bengali politician.
1:19 PM: What is your qualification to become the next PM of the biggest democracy of the world? You have to be a producer's son. #Youngistaan
1:33 PM: Got to give the makers the due credit for casting some good actors like Farooque Sheikh, Mita Vashisht in supporting roles. #Youngistaan
1:54 PM: Imagine the PM of India romancing his girlfriend at the Taj...#Youngistaan is quite make believe.
2:18 PM: The young PM seems to be interested in spending quality time with the girlfriend than addressing issues of the country. #Youngistaan
2:42 PM: And the young PM also quotes dialogues from Spiderman movie! Impressive! #Youngistaan
3:03 PM: Lunch at dalit's house, interview to a hard nose journalist, dynasty politics. #Youngistaan draws from reality in almost every frame.
3:07 PM: The PM has his girlfriend's name tattooed on his wrist like Saif Ali Khan. Very very cool, yo! #Youngistaan
3:10 PM: What if India has an young PM? #Youngistaan rides on the election wave and tries an idealistic approach and lacks depth.
3:12 PM: The supporting cast boasts of actors like Farooque Sheikh, Mita Vashisht and Boman Irani. Sheikh in particular holds the film. #Youngistaan
3:14 PM:Just like his character in the film, Jackie Bhagnani falters in quite a few places. Neha Sharma looks beautiful. #Youngistaan
3:16 PM: Overall #Youngistaan is enjoyable but it refuses to address serious issues properly. The film is about an idealistic India.
3:17 PM: Thanks for being with us throughout the tweet review of #Youngistaan.
