In its fresh report submitted in the Supreme Court in the Kerala Love Jihad case, the NIA, according to sources, has underlined that hypnotic counselling is a technique employed by certain people belonging to particular groups.
The second report says the agency has come across seven more cases in which a pattern has been discovered, involving the similar victims, methods of conversion and the same set of people who reportedly influenced women. This takes the number of women to 10, wherein the role of Popular Front of India (PFI) has allegedly been found in enticing young Hindu and Christian women.
The second method, neuro-linguistic programming, is another mode of hypnotherapy wherein counsellors can make intervention through neurological connection and then influence the clients to make changes in the latter's life goals. The NIA, as per the sources, has elucidated use of these tools by various research papers and examples from studies.

Hadiya, earlier known as Akhila, whose conversion to Islam and subsequent marriage to Shafin Jahan created a furor in the country, touched down in Delhi on Saturday night.
“If she wants to go to someone else, Hadiya should be given absolute liberty to do so but if she wants to come back to Shafin, then no one should hold her back. We have full faith in the judiciary,” says Shafin Jahan’s lawyer, Haris Beeran. He added saying, “Can’t talk about the NIA’s report but our case is very strong unless the court thinks that Hadiya is mentally unstable or indoctrinated.”
Both Delhi and Kerala Police are providing security to Hadiya. She has also been asked to not speak to the media. Delhi's Kerala House has turned into a fortress after the new guest checked in. A Kerala police team is accompanying Hadiya and her family members, CNN-News18 has learned. Sources also said that an entire floor has been blocked for Hadiya, and 2-3 rooms have been booked for her and her family to stay. Delhi Police are also on alert for additional security.
"I do not wish to speak on camera, as it is an important hearing. It's not about me, it's about her. We both know the reality and that's enough for me. The sad reality is that we have to prove out love to the world and how," said Hadiya's husband, Shafin Jahan, to CNN-News18. "Why has she been kept hostage by her parents? I understand their worry but they should also respect their daughter's decision. I saw on TV, how she was shouting that she wants to live with me. I broke down when I saw that, I never imagined her seeing like this."

Kerala woman Hadiya, who is at the centre of the Love Jihad controversy, has said she wants to be with her husband Shafin Jahan.
RECAP | The Kerala government on October 7 told the Supreme Court that its police conducted a "thorough investigation" into her conversion and subsequent marriage to Jahan and did not find material warranting the transfer of probe to the National Investigation Agency. Jahan had moved the Supreme Court after the Kerala high court annulled his marriage, saying it was an insult to the independence of women in the country.
