At what was supposed to be an event organised to release Bollywood hottie Lara Dutta’s yoga video, matters took a much interesting turn. This afternoon, the actor revealed that unlike their secret engagement a couple of months ago, she and fiancé tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi would announce their marriage plans to the media once they decided on their wedding date.
In between taking questions about her personal fitness regime and eating habits, Lara fielded several questions from the media about whether an early wedding was on the cards. She said, “Since our engagement is done, obviously the wedding will take place. Once we both decide on a date, we will surely announce it.” Speaking about her much talked about engagement to Bhupathi, Lara added, “Our engagement hasn’t really been a secret. We announced it to the world after we got engaged.”
Lara however refused to commit to a specific wedding date. “I have three or four films to finish first. After that, we will think of deciding on our wedding date.”
Interestingly, Lara also revealed that it was she who introduced Bhupathi, a gym fanatic to yoga. While Lara handled questions about the couple with panache, Bhupathi was not very forthcoming to divulge any detail. When asked to narrate his experience of doing yoga together with Lara, he instead said, “I am happy I got into yoga.” The former Miss Universe got engaged to Mahesh Bhupathi in New York in September this year.
Her fitness video, a series of three that will hit the market soon makes Lara yet another Bollywood actor after Shilpa Shetty and Bipasha Basu to show the world their fitness secrets. Lara who admits that she has never gone on a fad diet and credits her babelicious looks to a combination of exercise and yoga emphasises on the fact that she will never be a size-zero. “I am a Punjabi and except for religious purposes, I have never fasted. I don’t diet and I never want to be a size-zero,” she specified.
