LoC killings: Munde, Prasad to represent BJP at soldier's funeral

Deputy Leader of BJP in Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde and his Rajya Sabha counterpart Ravi Shankar Prasad will represent their party at the funeral of the five soldiers who were killed at the LoC on Tuesday. Four of the five soldiers belong to 21 Bihar Regiment. Their funeral will be held on Thursday in Patna.

Four of the five soldiers belong to 21 Bihar Regiment. Their funeral will be held on Thursday in Patna.

One soldier, who was martyred in the attack, is from the 14 Maratha Light Infantry. The five jawans martyred were 35-year-old Naik Prem Nath of Chappra (Bihar), 29-year-old Lance Naik Shambhu Saran of Bhojpur (Bihar), 27-year-old Sepoy Vijay Kumar Rai of Patna (Bihar), 23-year-old Sepoy Ragunandan of Chhapra (Bihar) and 36-year-old Naik Pundalik Mane of Kolhapur (Maharashtra).

The bodies of the soldiers were brought in Delhi on Wednesday evening en route to their respective native places. Wreaths were laid and floral tributes paid to them at a ceremony in Delhi.
