New Delhi: A man was allegedly beaten to death by two men in Delhi's Ranhola area on the suspicion that he had stolen a horse. Police, after arresting the two men, said that the accused were in an inebriated state when they committed the crime.

The incident took place on June 18. The police received the information that a dead body was lying in Ranhola over the phone. Police tried to identify the body, but they couldn't.

The locals informed the police that the man was caught on the suspicion of stealing a horse after some people saw him in the stable. Locals thought he was stealing the horse and hence he was being taken to the police.

It was then the two men Vijay Lakra and Manjeetpal, both arrested now, came on a bike and took the accused on the pretext of taking him to the police station. Instead, they allegedly killed the boy with an iron rod on the way.

According to sources, the deceased was also in an inebriated state. No one saw the deceased stealing the horse, but assumed him to be a horse thief just because he was inside the stable, fiddling with the rope of the horse.
