Mumbai: Teen actor Darsheel Safary is excited about Canada-based Indian filmmaker Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children' because for the first time he is 'doing a film of this kind'. A big screen adaptation of Salman Rushdie's bestseller of the same name, 'Midnight's Children' cast boasts of names likes Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Rahul Bose and Soha Ali Khan.

"I have shot for Deepa Mehta's film 'Midnight's Children'. It should release by the end of this year. I am very, very excited about my character because this is the first time I am doing a film of this kind," the 16-year-old said here Tuesday at the launch of Playstation's new game.

The youngster, who made it big with his debut movie 'Taare Zameen Par', is right now focusing on his studies.

Talking about his academics and work schedule, Darsheel said: "I am busy with my studies right now. But whenever something like this - game launches or anything else comes up - my parents decide. That is when I am free and for my entertainment."

Recently, Darsheel participated in the fifth season of dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'.
