Narendra Modi in Israel Live: 'My Visit Marks Beginning of Path-breaking Relationship'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Ben-Gurion International Airport at 4:00 pm on Tuesday on his historic visit to Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the airport to welcome PM Modi, a rare gesture that Israel reserves only for the Pope and the US President. The two sides are expected to sign number of agreements in the field of innovation, development, science and technology and space. This is the first ever visit by an Indian PM to Israel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Israel's Yad Vashem memorial and honoured the victims of the Holocaust, among the greatest tragedies in human history as some six million Jews were killed by Nazi Germany.
Modi was accompanied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Israel's largest Holocaust memorial. Yad Vashem started as an organisation in 1953 on the slopes of the Mount of Remembrance near Jerusalem, as a form of reference to future generations, documenting the memory of Holocaust victims and the history of the Jewish people during the tragic time.
Officials said that in the farm sector, the plan is to expand 26 agriculture expertise centres that Israel has set up in 15 Indian states to help increase output of everything from vegetables to mangoes and pomegranates.
Apart from agriculture, fight against terror and defence cooperation are expected to top the agenda during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's three-day visit of Israel. Israel is also looking to seek cooperation in the area of Space technology.
