Bengaluru: Parents of kids who were allegedly molested in a playschool here met Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrashekar on Friday and narrated the trauma their children went through.

One parent said, “My kid for the last 20 days came home crying, we ignored it in the start thinking kids cry. But one day the kid said Manju Bhaiya is giving injection to my bum. My bum is paining.”

More parents said that their kids also complained of pain in their private parts. The kids didn’t want to go school in the last month as Manjunath was allegedly molesting them. The playschool has around 180 kids and as of now 6 similar cases have come to light.

They said that the principal did not believe that staff member Manjunath was involved, as he was working for the last 8 years.

Infact, the school used to threaten the kids that “If you misbehave you would be sent to Manju Bhaiya as punishment”. Most parents said they chose this playschool because it was a good brand and had branches in across India.

Chandrashekar and the parents also discussed the next course of action to get justice. He promised that he would help them in all legal aspects and coordination between a NGO and parents for counselling the children.

“We need to make the school responsible in such cases; they do not have proper vetting process as to who is looking after the kids. I will request the Police Commissioner and Home Minister to re-look into the charges filed in principal and administration,” he said.

T Manjunath was booked under POCSO act and is behind bars while the principal is now out on bail.
