The station house officer has been transferred for alleged negligence of duty in connection with a tourist bus loot incident in Charthawal area in Muzaffarnagar, police said.

The station house officer has been transferred for alleged negligence of duty in connection with a tourist bus loot incident in Charthawal area in Muzaffarnagar, police said.

"The SHO, BN Parashar has been transferred to lines for negligence of duty and MP Singh has been posted in his place," SSP HN Singh told reporters.

One person was killed when a group of armed men looted a tourist bus carrying 47 pilgrims to Haridwar on August 3.

Around 12 dacoits signalled the bus to stop on Muzaffarnagar-Charthawal Road near Haibatpur village, following which they gunned down the driver when he did not stop the vehicle.

The dacoits also looted cash worth thousands of rupees and ornaments from the passengers.
