Social activist slams UP government asks to remove, replace tainted minister

Thakur said it is necessary to either remove or replace the minister for a free and fair inquiry against him as the witnesses are connected with his department.

Muzaffarnagar (UP): Alleging that an Uttar Pradesh minister against whom a complaint is pending before the Lokayukta has been putting pressure on witnesses, social activist Nutan Thakur on February 14 demanded that the minister be either removed or replaced to ensure a free and fair inquiry.

Thakur said it is necessary to either remove or replace the minister for a free and fair inquiry against him as the witnesses are connected with his department.

"He is putting pressure on the witnesses and even threatening them," she said.

The minister is facing probe for allegedly misusing his office and amassing assets worth several crores.
