Suspected terrorist killed in Kashmir encounter, search operation underway

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in south Kashmir's Kulgam district in a terror operation.

Srinagar: A militant was killed and an army soldier was injured in an encounter at a village in south Kashmir's Kulgam district, an army official said.

The encounter is still going on, the official said.

The gun-battle in Buchroo village began after some suspected militants fired a few rounds at the security forces who were advancing towards the village.

A police official said security forces have launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
