Tamil flick Sivappu Mazhai, a directorial debut of V Krishnamurthy, has got the credit of being shot within a short span of time. The film was shot in just 12 days and has entered the Guinness Book of Records. Twelve lead actors and over 600 technicians worked on the film. The shooting took place between May 22 and June 3, 2009.

Sivappu Mazhai broke the earlier record held by British film The Fastest Forward made by Russ Malkin and John Gore in 13 days in 1990.

When contacted, director Krishnamurthy said, "I was lucky to get an opportunity to do an experiment like this in my first film itself. We used three camera units. The movie was shot in 11 days, 23 hours and 45 minutes. It is a two-hour film that deals with Sri Lankan Tamil people."

The budget of the film was Rs 2.25 crore. Suresh Joachim, Meera Jasmine, Vivek, Bose Venkat and Suman play the lead roles. The movie released on April 9, 2010 all over Tamil Nadu, and will be released in other metros next week.
