Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old student studying in Class 3 of a local school in Kullu was mercilessly beaten by her teacher for failing to answer a Mathematics question. The child is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident happened at a primary school at Kamand in Kullu.

The 35-year-old teacher, identified as Chaman, pulled the girl by her hair and banged her head against the wall when she was unable to answer a question.

Ironically, the victim's grandmother tried to cover up the incident as the accused is related to her. Albeit, the parents reported the case to the police.

Himachal Health Minister Vipin Kumar visited the hospital where the victim is admitted and assured the family of all help.
