Hyderabad: In a step towards developing Hyderabad into a smart city, the Telangana government has launched "Hy-Fi", the Hyderabad City Wi-Fi project, which will cover the entire city.

With 3000 hotspots spread across Hyderabad, the "Hy-Fi" project aims to deliver high speed internet connectivity to the citizens free of cost.

The hotspots will provide the user first 30 minutes free at 10 mbps speed.

Launching the project Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor, Bonthu Ram Mohan said, "GHMC has always taken lead in implementing new-technology. The Wi-Fi will not only be useful to the local citizens, but also large number of tourists who visit Hyderabad."
