Mohali, Punjab: A group of transgender people took to the streets of Mohali on Tuesday to protest against a video that went viral recently.

The transgenders protested by stripping naked in the premises of Mataur Police station, before taking to the streets.

The video alegedly showed members of the community being involved in cases of theft in Mohali’s airport road.

They had been called to the police station for investigations in connection with stealing.

The protesters also stopped traffic on the road.

One of the protesters claimed, "four persons had stopped me on my way back from work and sexually assaulted me. One of the onlookers made a video of it and made it public."

The police said that investigation regarding the harrassment is on and in this regard, the help of cyber cell has also been sought.​​
