Trinamool leader held with gun, bullets at Kolkata airport

The gun and the bullets were found during a scan of Narendranath Chakraborty's (TMC leader) luggage by the CISF officials.

Kolkata: A Trinamool Congress leader was arrested from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBIA) on Sunday with a revolver and three cartridges.

Sources said, Narendranath Chakraborty, TMC leader in Burdwan, was supposes to take a SpiceJet flight to Chennai. The gun and the bullets were found during a scan of his luggage by the CISF officials.

It was found that Chakraborty failed to show any valid documents for the revolver and also did not inform the airline authorities that he was carrying a gun.

He was handed over to officers of the airport police station for further interrogation.

Later he was produced in the Barrackpore court and released in bail.
