Karachi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari's chief security officer was fired at Karachi and two of his securitymen were injured in the shooting, a media report said on Sunday.

Bilal Shaikh was travelling to Khamosh colony when gunmen opened fire at him.

Shaikh's security personnel fired back following which the attackers fled, Dawn reported on Sunday.

They left behind their car and weapons.

Two of Shaikh's security officers, identified only as Mehmood and Farooq, were injured in the shooting.

A rocket launcher, hand grenade and other weapons were recovered from the car of the gunmen, the report said.

There have been a string of terror attacks across Pakistan following the May 2 killing of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad by American commandos.
