There are days when your Boss is just not in the right mood to even talk, forget about discussing an important project. And he or she is just nick-picking to lambast you, in front of others or via an email. How to do you cope up with such a bossy boss? Does his/her behaviour affect your productivity at work? Chances are a fair ‘Yes’, but here are 3 ways to help you stay collected and carry on with your day’s work:

1. Nothing Personal

Understand that if your Boss is feeling edgy, then it’s an issue with him or her, not you. Don’t take it personally if your boss is just too bossy. It’s not your fault and you must choose to ignore his weird behaviour.

2. Reaffirm Yourself

Reaffirm your capabilities to yourself and don’t let yourself doubt what you are capable of, just because your boss is not making sense. Carry on with your tasks with utmost prudence and don’t let his behaviour come in the way of your quality of work.

3. Set Correct Expectations

Lastly, if your boss is going overboard with his ridiculous behaviour or has turned unnecessarily humiliating, then it’s time to set correct expectations and personal limits. Do not let anybody treat you like a doormat. Understand that you cannot work with a narcissist for too long, and at times, a simple communication can clarify certain misunderstandings and put things straight.
