Beyonce owned the stage as well as the award section in this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Popularly known as the VMA's, the popular American music award ceremony felicitates top musical acts in a number of categories every year.
This year the award ceremony was completely ruled by girl power with Queen B and Fifth Harmony emerging as big winners of the night.
While Beyonce won took home the video of the year, best female video, best pop video and best choreography awards among others, girl group Fifth Harmony won for song of the summer and best collaboration Award.
MTV claimed the awards drew more than 15 million votes from fans. The show was telecasted live from Madison Square Garden in New York. The show also included highly anticipated performances including Britney Spears' first VMA appearance in more than 10 years. Other performers included Rihanna, star of the night Beyonce and Chainsmokers.
