When you talk about English music bands in India, the first name that pops up in our heads is that of 'The Other People'.
Vogue India recognised 'The Other People' as the best Live Performing band in India for parties & weddings in 2015 & 2016. They were also the only English / Western band from India to be mentioned in this list in both years.
In an exclusive interview with News18, the members of the band spoke about how they realised music was their calling. "Look at what music has done to us. It has kind of changed our lives, literally. We're grateful and lucky enough to be able to do what we love full-time," they said.
A firm believer of inclusion of music in curriculum as well as making it accessible for underprivileged kids, The Other People has initiated to donate guitars to Music Basti, a Delhi-based NGO that connects at-risk children with musicians and aims to nurture confidence through a creative and joyful music-led learning experience.
Since efforts like these need combined support, News18 has partnered with the crowd-funding organisation, BitGiving, to raise funds for Music Basti.
While they have done their bit, here’s a chance to make a contribution and bring some difference in the lives of these little learners.
