Power Yoga: A New Workout Trend In LA Which Promises To Take Your Mind To Next Level

Power Yoga is a strenuous workout. It's an intense yoga with non-stop movement, also known as 'gym yoga'. Classes in West Hollywood are popular with people working in the entertainment industry and who want to stay in peak condition. Power Yoga is done in a hot room, although not as hot as Bikram yoga. Chanting and meditation are almost non-existent. Pacy pop music keeps the energy levels high. Emphasis is put on standing postures, instructors say the leg work gets the heart rate up - a key part of power yoga. Power Yoga movements are random so classes are always a bit of a surprise. This class is at Crunch Fitness on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Instructor Mercy Malick is a jobbing actor, but she teaches Power Yoga in her spare time. Like many of the class members she has a passion for the exercise and is recovering from her own ailments.
