Rajput vs Bhim Army Tussle Threatens Long-Term Peace in Saharanpur

On May 9, 2018, the brother of Bhim Army District President Kamal Singh Walia, Sachin Walia, was killed by a gunshot. The incident thrust Saharanpur into lockdown as theories and hearsay abounded over whether this was an accident or murder. This is one of several incidents, over the past few years, where allegations and counter-allegations by the Bhim Army and the Rajputs, many affiliated with the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's pet outfit Hindu Yuva Vahini, have brought the city to violence or almost to the brink of it.​​
